Seems there has been a change, and simply saving my whole Wow directory doesn’t cut it anymore 
Upon logging in it refused to admit I had the latest expansion installed. So I’ve had to do a complete install, and jeebus that takes ages!
Still done now, should be able to start playing again tonight! Woot!
